In our dealings with Free Software and Free Content we are usually only emphasising the technological and business advantages of it. But recently, after a comment from one of my friends, it occurred to me that there's an important social aspect that we may be missing to mention.

Ever since the mass media have announced the existence of the wicked economic world crisis, the rights of workers have diminished and deteriorated. All around the globe we're getting news about mass firing from many companies, big and small. The firings are being justified by the reduction of available work. In addition there's an annoyingly disturbing phenomenon that's starting to occur.
Can We Trust Them?

For the last ten years Free Software has been gaining a tremendous momentum, spreading in many areas, especially the Internet infrastructure. This trend has been, in part, the result of many big companies backing the development of such software. But in the end, there's a huge question that most people won't even think about, let alone ask - can we trust them?
